Cold Open Stories is a creative platform dedicated to producing immersive audio content and short stories – both original and fanfiction. We specialize high-quality storytelling and narratives that transport our audiences to different worlds.
Position Overview:
As a Content Producer at ColdOpenStories.com, you will play a critical role in elevating our Warhammer 40,000 content to a new audience by assisting in the editing and publishing of voice-acted short story narrations.
This position works closely with our Creative Director to convert authors and voice talents’ works into new immersive audio experiences for our audience. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your editing and mixing skills while contributing to the growth of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:

Audio Editing (Training Available): Edit and refine audio recordings of voice actors to ensure the highest audio quality. This includes cleaning up audio, removing background noise, and making necessary adjustments to voice performances for clarity and consistency.

Music Mixing: Collaborate with our Creative Director to select and mix music tracks that enhance the emotional impact of our audio content. Your expertise in music selection and mixing will be vital to creating immersive experiences.

Content Production: Work closely with the content development team to produce one audio video per week for our YouTube channel (and Podcast Stream). This involves combining edited voice recordings, music tracks, and (occasionally) sound effects to create a polished and engaging final product.

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that the audio content meets our high standards of production quality, clarity, and immersion.

Collaboration: In support of the Creative Director, occasionally collaborate via email with writers and voice talent to bring their creative visions to life. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for the success of this role.

Creativity: Contribute your creative ideas and suggestions to improve the overall quality and impact of our audio content.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong understanding of storytelling via audio mixing and music selection.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality audio content.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Availability to dedicate a consistent amount of time each week to the role.
